Jake & Beth | Wedding | Hartley Farms, San Miguel CA

Beth and Jake's wedding took place on a perfect summer day in San Miquel, Ca at one of my favorite venues on the Central Coast; Hartley Farms. The day was full of personal touches and so much love you could literally feel it in the air.

I had the pleasure of working with some of my favorite vendors that day, including their wedding coordinator Karen with Bella Die Weddings. As a vendor, having a well seasoned coordinator guarantees your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and she is top notch!

Before Beth and Jake tied the knot I asked them some questions about planning their big day.

SEP: Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s).

This was actually the first venue I showed Jake because I was so excited after seeing the pictures online! We visited a ton of venues in the Paso area, but all of them blended together and started to look the same. The minute we finished our tour at Hartley Farms, I knew Jake was sold too! I wanted a venue that could stand out on its own with minimal decor and Hartley Farms does just that. From the outside, it looks to have a ranch or vineyard feel, but it surprises a lot of people with its botanical features and tall trees. The venue is also family owned and the owners (Barbara and Dan) are so helpful and awesome. Plus they have the cutest bulldog named Janis and Barbara makes some amazing homemade jam!

SEP: Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you're creating for your wedding

We opted to make our wedding very simple and classic to compliment the beautiful venue we already have. Our colors are black, white, and champagne to create an elegant atmosphere. We also wanted to have an ample amount of guest experiences to keep the party going--a photo booth, audio guestbook, lawn games, and an awesome DJ!

SEP: What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Picking the vendors! It was so fun finding people that share the same energy as us and pour their heart and soul into their businesses. All of our vendors were personally recommended by people we love. :)

SEP: What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples?

It is very easy to fall into the rabbit hole of Tik Tok and Pinterest perfect weddings and trends. At the end of the day, include details that are special to you and your significant other and celebrate with the people you love most. I always remember the details at weddings that showcase the couples' personality or vibe.

On a personal note, this wedding was one I won't soon forget. Between the weather, the vendor team and this beautiful couple my day flew by. I danced my heart out, and loved every single image I captured for them.
